I am a big fan of Robin D. Owens and highly recommend her Heart series and the Guardian of Honor series.
I am glad that ENCHANTED NO MORE is not the first book by this author that I read, since I probably wouldn't read more if this were my introduction to Robin D. Owen's work. Despite my disappointment in this book, I believe Robin D. Owens is a gifted writer, and this is still better than a lot of books out there.
My primary interest is in the Romance genre, and it comes as a shock when the romance in this story turns sordid. I don't want to spoil it for any new readers, but I just could not get past the less-than-honorable behavior of the hero and heroine. I have a hard time believing in any Happily-Ever-After for this couple. Jenni has her doubts about the Treeman's motives, and so do I. My opinion doesn't change at the end of the book, I don't care how attractive Aric is (although it explains Jenni's stupid-girl behavior).
I'm not big on reading fantasy fiction, although Robin D. Owens has, in the past, created worlds that are so interesting they keep me involved in her stories. This world is not one of them, which is really disappointing since it is on planet Earth.
If any reader longs for magical abilities and to be part of a magical world, this book might provide the cure! The Lightfolk (the good magical beings!) are ruled by autocratic and bigoted kings and queens. We are supposed to believe they are also benevolent and have the best interests of the world and the Lightfolk at heart. Yeah, and if you believe that there are a bunch of politicians in Washington, D.C. I can sell you too.
My third disappointment is that the Lightfolk have a base in Yellowstone National Park, one of my favorite places on earth. I don't want to share it with the unpleasant Lightfolk any more than I want to share it with the humans that line Yellowstone's beautiful trails with litter and impatiently honk their car horns at the Buffalo.
I'll still buy the next in-series since I do believe in Robin D. Owens, and hopefully the next book will have a better balance of negative and positive. In the meantime, I'll be re-reading her other books to recapture the magic.

You enter a world fascinating with magic. Love delayed and fractured family bonds are healed by the main characters. A thoroughly satisfying read.
This is part of a series and I highly recommend these books.. Only three but extremely well written... as I said need MORE!!!!

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Summoning series by this author so it was natural for me to seek out some of Robin D. Owens' other works. She has done a masterful job here of creating a fantastical world that blends fantasy, romance, incredible danger, and a brother-sister love-hate relationship. We see a brother who is loved but gives hate and anger back in return. There is an alliance between ex-lovers. All the forces of good must come together to fight a deadly, mindless enemy. Will they? I read Romance and Fantasy. This book magically combines both. Hats off to an author I only discovered six months ago!
Loved this book. Jenni Weaver has spent the last 15 years living as a human, angry and hurt with the Lightfolk that she felt had let her family die - gotten them killed and done nothing to save them. Suddenly Jindesfarne Mist-Weaver is called on again by the Lightfolk, the Eight specifically - the four Elemental Kings and four Elental Queens - to do the one thing that only her family could do, balance all four elements for a perfectly balance living space or ritual circle.
When she turned away the Lightfolk they sent to ask her, they sent Aric Para on. Her former lover and love - also the one she blamed for her families death because he rushed to the Eight that fateful day, not to her families defense. He tells her that brother, the one remain blood relitive is caught in the mist they use to balance magic. He accepted the assignment from the Eight, now he is lost - or stuck - unable to get out.
Jenni accepts because her brother had already given the Mist-Weaver bond, but her first plan of action was to save her brother. Once that is achieved, with a bubble magic event happening right on them, she is adopted into the Emberdrake family, Queen and King of Fire.
Through the book Aric is the to protect her, and yes, love her. He to feels lost and guilt because they were running late - on time - that fateful morning, just being two hundred to her seventy five, he dealt with it differently. Jen I learn to release that anger, guilt, and sorrow in the course of working her magic again and learning her new strengths. But she going to be strong enough, can she trust the Eight and the Dwarf and Elf guardians, and especially Aric enough to get them through the next large bubble event?
A wonderfully magical tale of lost love found, and lost family and guilt finding a place that is not poisonous in your soul. Can't wait for the next installment.
