ENTERTAINING READ!

I read the paperback six months ago and just added the kindle from . It was worth reading twice. The Show is not only an engaging read but one that is relatable. The story is inspired by eighteen months of Sola’s life and is an amusing examination of a bright future ruined by ego - envy and a love interest outside a marriage like none other. This page-turner will have you cringing, crying, cracking up and craving a sequel!

It's not a book I would normally read. I did enjoy the first half of it, as the comedy value was there. Then the book got serious... Wondering if there will be a sequel...what happened in the lawsuit? My rating is because I feel like the ending didn't provide closure and there is a lot of set up. If there is a sequel I will update my rating.
I have to start this by stating that I was also in the Spirits distribution business for a considerable period of my life and this story really hits home! Without being to industry bias I would say this book is worthy of New York times best seller list. I loved Mr. Sola's style of storytelling and the pace of this book. I was captured from the first page and couldn't wait to pick it up each time my schedule permitted. I'm really looking forward to the second book and I wish Lawrence Sola much success in future projects. Overall I give this story 5 out of 5 stars and recommend this to anyone who has climbed the corporate ladder and fought in the trenches!!!
Extremely well written! First hand insight to a corrupt industry. Although the book is fiction, it is disturbingly accurate how a person's career can be ruined by corporate agenda or workplace jealousy. A must read! Lawrence has a highly creative mind, hopefully we see more to come in the future.
I purchased this after a friend recommended it. I was a little iffy about whether I would like it or not because I know zilch about the wine industry. Well, you only needed to be human to relate to this gifted writer's story. It was a fantastic read. I loved the way he humanized the character of Larry and made him relatable in the corporate world around him that is corrupt. Even though he doesn't always make the best decisions, I felt a connection with him and found myself routing for him throughout the book. One of the best stories I have ever read and I look forward to his next book release.
This is the first book I read from this author and honestly did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did. It was a recommended read and although I’m not a fast reader I finished it in days. The Show is an entertaining story with so many relatable layers of life. I laughed out loud, cried and sighed, often. This isn’t just a book for wine industry professionals or corporate climbers. The love story was heartbreaking and real. Without spoiling it, I will only add that it ended as it should’ve. I not only recommend The Show I am another new fan of this author and look forward to reading on.
It seems to me that the wine industry crucified the character. The author takes the time to do an honest character study. Speaking of characters, I think there are too many, and I struggled to keep up with them all. That being said, the author shows true heart and empathy toward all the characters, their flaws and their triumphs, which shows he "just couldn't leave anyone out", which is a nice gesture and one nodding toward major kindness and/or honesty. While most of the reviews I read focused on the protagonist and his quest for Wendy, I see Peter's struggles as one to simply be happy. Granted, he went down the wrong path to find this. But along this path, he had managed to make me laugh hysterically. Simply put, this novel sheds light upon our own individual struggles, our need to be recognized, our need to be compensated ... and to what degree we will act to resolve these personal issues. Anyone who criticizes the protagonist certainly is hurling stones at their own glass house. If at times uncomfortable, this novel also opens light to that happiest sunniest extroversion experience.
