BloodLust A Vivid Reverse Harem Epic Fantasy Rise Of The Iliri Book 1 eBook Auryn Hadley

So... I shied away from this series at first. Because, well, she has cat-like ears on the top of her head. I like to think I'm open-minded and nonjudgemental but apparently if I see a character with cat ears on the top of her head and it proves my self-understanding wrong. Then someone said to me 'they get intimate in the heat of battle' and my invisible cat-like ears perked up. 'Intriguing. Perhaps I should give this a shot after all.' I thought to myself. And... well... the rest is history. I started with the prologue and several paragraphs in the author had me wrapped around her pinky finger. Her writing is wonderful, the characters and their relationships deep, the plot well thought through and delivered. Plus it's nice and lengthy... she doesn't hold back or cut corners.

Shhh... I think I'm one of her new 'biggest fans'. I have a major reader crush on her talent and style.

BloodLust A Vivid Reverse Harem Epic Fantasy Rise Of The Iliri Book 1 eBook Auryn Hadley Reviews

I have read all six books now and I am wrecked. I reviewed two through six but had to wait on this one. I feel like I was a part of all these books and believe me when I say I wish that I was the Iliri part and not the human part. Aside from the fact that it would be so cool to have the nifty powers that they have, they are the underdogs (no pun intended) and definitely in the right. I am so looking forward to the next four books and conversely don't ever want the tenth book cuz I never want to leave my Iliri family. 💜😀💜
Not usually a genre I read, but I gave it a shot and am I ever glad I did!!
I have found that when I get a free, or 99 cent book, I get badly written and horribly edited stories. Not here! I am impressed.

I truly fell in to this story and I've come to love the characters and anticipate seeing where things are going to go. Some scenes are long, but easily skimmed. (mostly the battle scenes) The love scenes? You know they're having sex, but you don't get graphic details. It is really wonderful watching Sal blossom. Not sure what the end result will be, yet, but that's part of why I went on to book two...and three.
My husband discovered this series after no. 7 was already out. Part-way through book 1 he was already telling me that this was a MUST READ series. I started and luckily had 7 books available to read one right after the other!!! I have read all 7 books 4 times already - word for word - and I have gone thru them countless other times to read my favorite parts.
These stories are a GEM! Every time I read them, I discover another hidden sentence with a clue for the future. I didn't realize they were clues until after completing the 7 books. Going thru again and spotting these clues makes a shiver run down my spine. Ms. Hadley has so beautifully crafted these stories, tying them so wonderfully together. The story-line is a marvel, the characterizations thorough, the world building is out-of-this-world, the romance is carefully and perfectly developed. I have found everything good that I could imagine in this series except for one issue
this author's use (misuse) of the personal pronouns in her writings. Maybe it's because I was an editor of a college newspaper but I keep spotting these incorrect pronouns even though I want to ignore them. However Ms. Hadley has just announced that she will be starting on book 8 (of a promised 10) (thank you, thank you!) and she will be looking to correct the errors pointed out by her loyal fans. Regardless of her pronouns, book 8 will be MINE as soon as it hits !!
I can't wait for no. 8!! I have been reading sci-fi for over 50 years. There are some great books out there but I have not read any of them as many times as the Iliri series. PS Auryn, I am rooting for Tyr - he would be a terrific '4th table leg' (you'll see) and I love Ran (he is such a good man) . PSS Please, no more heartbreak! I still cry even after reading those parts so many times. PSSS Why stop at only 10 books?
Thank you, Auryn, for providing me with the pleasure of reading your stories! This is not the only series of yours that I have read and enjoyed, but it is obviously my very favorite of all time!
Honestly this was a 4.5 for me, but I rounded up because I love Auryn Hadley's books. Blaec pisses me off. I absolutely love Sal and Cyno, they have great chemistry in the story. Blaec and Sal, not as much. At times I can see the chemistry, but most often he's a wishy washy and it made me crazy. The story building was great. In the beginning it was a bit awkward as a reader trying to get the feel of the new world and its characters. There were times I did think "Auryn Hadley! Where the hell are you going with this?!" LOL. I absolutely love reverse harem, but all lot of the character concepts in the story were a slight shuffle from the usual paranormal romance. Very kickbutt dominant heroine characteristics, something you might find familiar having read Hadley's other books. In Bloodllust, Sal was described as dominant, but possessed a lot of insecurities(understandable considering her background). I do like her character growth and watching the bond between her and her men strengthen. Although there are a lot of chauvinistic cave men mentally going on in here. When Zeb described their group as a pack, that was when everything started making sense. Still hoping for the full menage (aside from Risk that is) for Sal with Iliri culture having multiple male partners and such. Haha! Overall, I can't wait to read what comes next!
